I remember a few years ago I read Don't Make Me Think, and intended to read The Design of Everyday Things that time as well, but somehow forgot it. In his book Norman is discussing product design but his observations can be equally applied to digital products. This is an example essay on The Design of Everyday Things book written by Donald A. I decided to keep the title of the site simple by calling it by its acronym, which was amazingly available for purchase. I only wish that I would have read this book years ago. Norman's classic example is the door. I must confess that I had to force myself to read the book. Norman discusses the relationship between errors and the design of everyday things. However “The Design of Everyday Things” will still have it's own domain name, just to formalize things a little. Brilliant work by Helen and Perikles, who took a simple initial idea and turned it around from concept to execution in a week (!).
